Asteria Theatre Colorado Mesa University
Colorado Mesa University’s new campus theatre expands not only the training opportunities available to students, but also the cultural role of the university in the Western Slope region. With 840 seats, the largest stage on the Western Slope, and a full complement of technical capabilities, the new theatre will support campus concerts, musicals and dance events as well as touring artists, civic presentations and conference presentations. The siting of the new building is intended to capitalize on the campus’s new hotel to stimulate a mixed-use neighborhood of vibrant living and working spaces neighboring the campus. The building’s heating and cooling are generated from the campus’s geothermal loop.

The technical components of the venue include adjustable acoustics, an orchestra shell, mechanized orchestra pit, scene shop and ensemble warm-up room.

Simplicity at Every Turn
Embracing an inclusive ethos, Hurley Place positions itself with the river as its focal point, inviting diverse communities and fostering economic vibrancy. The Riverfront development is comprised of two residential towers, a hotel tower, and an expansive central open space connecting to the river. This central connector is flanked by food & beverage and retail establishments and serves as both a connection to the Promenade but also a gathering space for the community.
