Duncan Center at Kent Denver School
Semple Brown Design was challenged to renovate this independent school’s library as a 21st Century learning center, supporting new models of student research and collaboration. Space formerly used for book stacks was transformed into multiple rooms for team collaboration, instruction and small-group interaction – each featuring technology for presentation and research, including a distance-learning studio.

To enhance the sense of connection and collaboration, a new mezzanine and stair connect all of the rooms, and glass interior walls showcase all of the activity. The insertion of large-scale windows into the shell of the building not only provides daylighting, but also frames a distinctive view of the campus.

Simplicity at Every Turn
Embracing an inclusive ethos, Hurley Place positions itself with the river as its focal point, inviting diverse communities and fostering economic vibrancy. The Riverfront development is comprised of two residential towers, a hotel tower, and an expansive central open space connecting to the river. This central connector is flanked by food & beverage and retail establishments and serves as both a connection to the Promenade but also a gathering space for the community.
