Crested Butte Residence

Situated on a hillside at the West boundary of Crested Butte, this residence is embedded within the surrounding landscape. The home and surrounding accessory buildings make up a small “campus” of buildings across the hillside connected by outdoor gathering spaces. The humble material palette of stone, cedar, and darkened corten steel harkens back to the tone and textures of materials and artifacts observed on-site during the initial site selection. The design of the home, driven by the desire to enhance the connection to the surrounding landscape, provides an array of carefully framed views throughout the home.

The living and entertaining spaces oriented along the longest axis of the home utilize Mt. Crested Butte as a backdrop for gathering. Operable glass partitions along this façade open to allow for continuity from the interior gathering spaces to exterior courtyards sited throughout the property.

Simplicity at Every Turn

Embracing an inclusive ethos, Hurley Place positions itself with the river as its focal point, inviting diverse communities and fostering economic vibrancy. The Riverfront development is comprised of two residential towers, a hotel tower, and an expansive central open space connecting to the river. This central connector is flanked by food & beverage and retail establishments and serves as both a connection to the Promenade but also a gathering space for the community.
