Semple Brown Design's Asteria Theatre at Colorado Mesa University was recently featured on an episode of America ByDesign (ByDesign TV), with Principal Chris Wineman sharing the story behind the award-winning design.

The episode focuses extensively on how the design team drew inspiration from the Western Slope's distinctive geology and landforms to create a uniquely local interior and exterior character. The Asteria Theatre earned the 2025 Green Globes Project of the Year award, in part for its geothermal heating and cooling system. The 840-seat theatre features a Club Level with its own lobby, bar, and restroom for VIP guests, the largest stage on the Western Slope, an orchestra pit, and a performance shell.
