McStain Neighborhoods identified “a collaborative work place” as their most important objective. Semple Brown delivered higher transparency across the entire company, at all levels and departments, which allowed them to work much more collaboratively, build cross-disciplinary relationships and raise morale. The organization of the floor plan brings light deep into the interior of the floor, provides low walls in workstations and glass walls in meeting rooms to encourage interaction, and provides a lot of informal team meeting space with flexible furniture. Commissioned art works reinforce the community-based values of the company.
