Designed to be the amenity center for this new master-planned community in Castle Rock, The Spoke is a 6,000 Square Foot building providing a social/work/gathering space, an exercise room, locker rooms, pool equipment rooms, and a 2,300sf covered outdoor space and a 1,500sf outdoor beer garden. The pool is 3700sf, with lap swimming, and distinct adult and family areas in a single structure. The building is situated on its 7 acre site to take advantage of a promontory position on a gentle ridge, emerging from a foreground of gambrel oak. The building form rises from the ridge to create a destination and a beacon facing the neighborhood main entry off of Crowfoot Valley Road. The form and materials of the building reference the historic barn and drainage structures on site, and re-interpret rural building arrangements in a contemporary vocabulary.
