Steuben’s
Denver, CO
Steuben’s was a challenge in restraint, transforming a 1930s auto garage to an everyday neighborhood classic cafe. It needed to be comfortable, cool and chic without resorting to kitschy clichés of the 50s and 60s diner. The team’s consistent challenge was maintaining an authentic and unique feel. To that end, vintage lighting fixtures were scavenged and common ‘old-school’ building materials were relied upon. The design details that lend to the restaurant’s uber-cool vibe include building materials such as VCT flooring, stainless steel, formica, vinyl, mirrors, wood paneling, and chrome. The color scheme- retro blue, cream and chocolate brown, finish the sense of established and old-school cool.
